Hi, guys; today, we will talk about the 4 Major Rules in the Indian Education Policy. The whole country was shocked when they came to know that the way they used to learn would change. The rules are unique, and after 34 years, this rule has been changed for education.
Why are People Rejecting the national policy on education?
When the rule got passed in India, #RejectNEP2020 was the trending hashtag on Twitter. Well, people had to say that this rule promotes child labor, the cost of education will be increased, and they are also imposing Hindi to entire India.
In fields like Art, Commerce, and Sciences, there is no rigid distinction in different streams. The students were allowed to select their courses by themself. The learning pattern has also changed; for example, there will be less rote learning, focusing on practical knowledge.
What is the purpose of new Education Policy?
- Internship: –
The policy says that students from 6th to 8th std are allowed to do an internship in fields like carpenter, gardeners, and electricians. This will be called a fun activity and the kids will learn that the work which these people do is very important for our life.
The aim of this rule is the student should have more practical knowledge than the bookish knowledge. The training of coding will be started from the school level itself. In addition, there will be 10 days bagless period in which you can have hands-on experience for 10 days. This way the student will learn how actually things work in the world and also respect these professions.
- Language: –
The second most unique rule of this policy, the English language is a very important part when it comes to jobs and global outreach. But the rule says that the language should be a bridge, not a barrier. So, in this policy, if there is any family who is not comfortable in English, they can study in there mother tongue or the local language. In the policy, it is said that the children can study in there language at least till the 5th standard. According to research, 85% of brain development is done at the age of 6. So this is the best time to teach a child a language.
- Higher Education: –
This policy has given permission to the INDIAN Universities to set up a campus outside INDIA. The top 100 Universities form other countries will be allowed to set up their campus in India. This will be a great help to the students who have to leave India for studies. According to a survey, more than 750,000 Indian students went abroad in 2018. This helped to stop a very big problem which is known as BRAIN DRAIN.
In this policy, the education system is going to keep a fee limitation which will be a transparent fee structure.
- Multiple Exit Options: –
The government understands that there are people who can’t complete their education for some reason. This was a very big problem in the education system but no more after this policy the rule has changed.
The students who completed their 1 year of study and dropout then he or she will get the certification. If the student completes 2 years, they will get a diploma. If the student dropout in the 3rd year will get a degree. Students completed with 4 years, will get a research certificate too.
